Abstract
This paper outlines my research around jewellery archetypes, readymades and text that explore the performative nature of jewellery as a device for communication. The main research questions that this paper deals with are how does my artwork investigate, question and critique the field of contemporary jewellery? How does my jewellery investigate, question and critique the field of contemporary art? This has been addressed though the creation and evaluation of body of work that interrogates critically what jewellery can be and how it might be displayed.
